Game of Thrones Essay

Game of Thrones Essay Practice
I feel the other’s vision was to create a hierarchy of power and to establish that power is what all the characters seek. I believe in the hierarchy of power because in the scenes it is clear one group of characters are more powerful than the other while both still being powers. I believe power is the main theme and what all the characters seek because it is the only topic being established in both scenes.
Scene one, opens with the more main character on a ship. It goes straight into a Bird’s Eye Shot of a huge statue of an island and the said ship of the character, which shows hierarchy of power being that the island they are entering is clearly more powerful than one ship. There is also use of a Foley artist that gives sounds to the animals and ocean of the environment which also establishes the environment of power driving home the idea. However, before both shots there is a medium close-up of both the characters for this group showing they are well groomed and serious inferring they are powers themselves
Scene two, opens with a Jumpcut showing the meeting area also giving the idea of power hierarchy since the media hall is big and the characters are there waiting instead of being greeted immediately. There is a two-shot showing the two characters of one side and how they seem powerful. Then a three-shot of three characters of the other more powerful showing even in the number of leaderships the other is stronger. This is followed by dialogue explaining why they are there and giving attuite of how the characters treat another again giving the idea of power hierarchy. The dialogue also developed the idea of power. There is a shot/ reverse shot in the scene during the dialogue and it shows the expressions of the characters giving a heated debate on one’s entitlement of power. There is also the use of a prop being a glove it’s used to prove a point of the original group’s leader’s power and this shows that power is respected. Lastly the main thing I think that drives the idea home is the costume, they were cloaks and kind of mediaeval clothing which explains the time period and the world of the show, it makes the idea of power and hierarchy of it understandable because of the world it takes place in.
To conclude, the idea that the other’s vision was to create a scene/ show based around power and the hierarchy of said power is clear to be true. There are various examples in all aspects of film it shows in shot and angles, sound, editing, and mis en scene.

CCR

So this marks the end of my journey for this class. I did my ccr today and as I mention in the ccr that you will see. I did a doc on my experiences. I also answered the basic ccr questions. I had a fun time doing this and a fun time in the class. Never a dull moment. Doing this I had some hold up fir example my camera would fall. It happened a lot more than you’d expect. Also I had my family interrupt me a few times. I took a long time to do this as I noticed it went from day to night. At that point my battery was at 1%. So I had to charge it. However I didn’t wanna waste time so I charged while filming. I also had to turn the camera to the side because of it. Which explains the camera difference in two of the scenes. In all though I had a fun time in this class and I enjoyed doing the final task and this ccr. Enjoy.

Final Task Film- Leaving Dreams

My Film is complete. I feel it is both ready and good enough to be evaluated. Then also do very well in the evaluation. My film meets all the requirements. I’ve made every last blog and met all requirements for those. I feel very confident and also proud. I’ve done most of this entirely by my self. Other than my close friend helping this one. I’ve basically done this whole class on my own. I just think it’s an accomplishment because me on myself have been doing better than a full group many times over. On to more of the film my film is called Leaving Dream. I play as the main character. I’m not gonna say more because you’ll find out yourself. I’m pretty sure my teacher was supposed to send you all the films through a connection. However, due to the corona virus. We will be just posting them on the blog site. Enough rambling though. Here’s my film. I hope you enjoy it.

Re-edit Blog

Continuing on trying to complete my final task this is the last blog. Another quicker blog to wrap this all up. After I received the peer reviews they all said one thing. Audio, my only problem throughout is sound. In the film the problem was dialogue. Which I fixed with the reshoot. The last problem is the soundtrack. It was said that in some parts is louder then the diegetic sound. Which kinda weakens my film. So all I had to do was go back into my Imovie editor. Then just touch each section on soundtrack and lower the volume percentage. The percentage is in comparison to the actual diegetic audio. So it would go from 100% to 500%. Meaning 100% is exactly the same volume as the diegetic sound. So going to 500% is 5x louder than the normal sound and audio of the film. Most of the soundtrack was at 100%. Which is why it was hard to hear some things. So my solution was turning it to 50%. The results seem very good. My film is finished.

Reshoot Blog

It’s been a while since my last blog. In that time school has been cancelled and the world had entered quarantine. All this is due to the covid-19 virus or corona virus. So you guys(Cambridge) have cancelled the Cambridge test. However you’re still evaluating us. So I decided to finish all of my final task as a part to give for evaluation. My class has decided on more things to do that you will see later on. For now I have done my reshoot. Lucky from the peer reviews I received the only thing in need of a reshoot was one simple scene. My scene 5. This is the talking scene with my mother. The reason I needed to reshoot was bad audio. I was told it was hard to hear the words said so I had reshoot the whole thing. Due to the fact that I couldn’t fix it through editing. Lucky it was a easy scene. I did have a few mess ups cause the dialogue, but it took only a few minutes. Also a problem I had to fix is my lack of my camera man Jaden. He’s my friend who has helped me along all this. However he is in quarantine as well so I had my brother hold the camera this time.
